Dennis Louis Van de Wiele

September 26, 1941 - August 17, 2011

SADDLEBROOKE, AZ. - Dennis passed away peacefully Wednesday August 17, 2011 at his home in Saddlebrooke, Az. Dennis was born September 26, 1941 in Portland, Ore. to Clement and Elizabeth Van de Wiele of St. Paul, Ore. He attended St. Paul parochial school and then St. Paul high school where he graduated. He went to Oregon State University and graduated in business. He was employed by Hallmark Card Co., for 26 years, he served in the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery. He was married to Judy Carlson in Bellevue, Wa. July 1983, they retired to Saddlebrooke, Az. 7 years ago. Dennis was preceeded in death by his parents, Clem and Liz Van de Wiele; nieces, Martha Kirk and Joan Penrose and brother in-law, Rod Bowdish. Denny is survived by his wife Judy of 28 years, Saddlebrooke, Az.; two sons, Gregory Van de Wiele of Salem, and Bradley Van de Wiele of Olathe, Ks. and two sisters, Jeanne Bowdish, Salem, Ore. and Joanne Van de Wiele, Keizer, Ore.; two step daughters, Stephanie DeArmond (Alex) of Mpls, Mn., Emily Carlson of Seattle, Wa. Three grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dennis will be buried in a private graveside Catholic burial in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery with full Military Honors. Contributions to the St. Paul parochial school indowment fund, St. Paul Fire Dept. Ambulance Fund., St. Paul Cemetery Association in his memory.
