Please accept my condolences. I was Ms. Markee“s student at Sprague in the 1980s. I took several English classes with her. She even had a group of us at her house one evening for a student literary publication. She was a very kind, understanding and hospitable teacher. She put up with a lot of adolescent behavior on my part and my friends in class, but she was also patient and had a great sense of humor. Her love of literature, poetry and drama was always evident. She respected us as young adults and valued our opinions. The study of English was so precious to her. I felt she wanted to impart that love to us generously and without heavy handedness. After high school, I went on to be an English major and applied many skills I learned from Ms Markee and my studies into my later career. I will remember Mrs. Markee very fondly as a consummate teacher, kind person and lover of the English language. Romans 12:6-7. God bless, Jason

Mike and family, I am so sorry. I admired the love and support of each other that I saw in your marriage. You both loved literature and sharing that passion with young people made you a dynamic team.
