Jeanette Coomler

SALINAS, CALIF. - Jeanette was born in Portland, Ore. to Clyde and Jeanette (Davis) McCulloch. Her mother died when Jeanette was only three and she was given into the loving care of Lovena and John Mount of Silverton, Ore. who raised her as their own.She married Howard Coomler on June 16, 1935 in North Howell, Ore. A marriage that lasted 57 years. Several years following their marriage, the couple moved to Cottage Grove, Ore. Following Howard’s death in 1992, Jeanette moved to Salinas, Calif. to be close to her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and William Berg. Jeanette was known for her unique and creative sense of humor and had her own distinctive phrases and expressions. She enjoyed gardening and raised prize winning gladiolas.Jeanette is survived by sons, Richard Coomler of La Pine, and David Coomler of Portland; daughters, Diane Berg of Salinas, Calif., and Kristi Sherrill of Medford; sister, Dorothy Richmond of Oakland, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Sun., Jan. 29 at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel, Cottage Grove. Interment will be at Fir Grove Cemetery, Cottage Grove.
