Jerry Howard

Jerry Howard April 20, 1951 - August 25, 2009 DALLAS - Jerry Howard, a resident of Dallas, Oreg. died on Tuesday, August 25 near Newport in a boating accident. He was born on April 20, 1951 in Hobbs, New Mexico, the son of Lester and Ola Mae Foshee Howard. The family moved to Dallas, Oreg. in 1957. Jerry attended Dallas High School. Jerry married Glennda Bathke on December 31, 1970 in Reno, Nevada. Jerry was a logger and timber cutter for for many years. In recent years he operated a Hazelnut Orchard in Lebanon. Jerry had many friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting old bottles and searching for arrowheads. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Glennda of Amity; sons Jarrod (Jessica), Harlan (Jennifer) and Colby; sister, Barbara Morrow of Salem; brothers, David (Jessie), Eugene (Candy), Johnny (Sandy) Glenn (Cheryl), along with grandchildren, Chloe Marie and Olivia Rose. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Tricia, and brothers Albert and Allen. Services will be at 11 a.m., Saturday September 5 at Grace Community Church, 598 E. Ellendale, Dallas, Oreg. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept 3, and from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept 4 in Dallas Mortuary Tribute Center. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Dallas Senior Center.
