Jess William Lucas

MT. ANGEL - Jess W. Lucas was born in Rickreall, Ore. eighty-eight years ago to Merrill and Edith (Wallace) Lucas. He was raised in the Gervais area and attended Fairfield, Ore. Grade School. He married Nancy Keene on Feb. 7, 1944 and they farmed on north River Road for 60 years. Jess was father to Nadeen and John Reis, and Perry and Cheryl Lucas; granddad to five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Jess enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed flea markets and being involved on the farm. Jess is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and his brothers Glenn and Virgil. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky in 1952. Viewing is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wed., Jan. 16 at Cornwell Colonial Chapel, 390 N. 2nd St., Woodburn. Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. with the memorial service following at 11 a.m. Thur., Jan. 17 at Cornwell's. Donations may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice.
