Juan Rios Ruiz

November 19, 1934 - October 5, 2012

HUBBARD - Juan Rios Ruiz was born in Asherton, Texas to Joaquin and Mariana (Rios) Ruiz. On March 25, 1957 he married Barbarita Fraga. Shortly after getting married he was drafted and served in the US Army for two years.

In 1966 they made Oregon their home, living in Hubbard since 1970. They raised seven children. Juan retired from the Portland Shipyards. He was always a devoted husband, dad and brother.

Juan is survived by his wife, Barbarita, children; Juan Jr., Martin, Sylvia Melcher, Velma Blades and Rita Narry, brothers; Joaquin Ruiz Jr. and Richard Ruiz, sister; Maria Garza and 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two of his children; Leo and Selma. This wonderful and loving, faithful husband and dad had a great sense of humor and quick witted that will be dearly missed and he will live in our hearts forever.

Visitation Monday- October 8, 2012 from 1:00-5 PM.

Rosary will be held Monday- October 8, 2012 at 7:00 PM at Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn.

Funeral Mass Tuesday- October 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St Luke Catholic Church.

Burial at St Paul Catholic Cemetery

Arrangements by Cornwell Colonial Chapel- Woodburn.

Barbarita y familia, we're so sorry for your loss. We just learned of Juan's death today (10/12) from Dalia Torres. We will always remember Juan--he was a wonderful man. Barbarita and family I'm sorry I was unable to accompany you all during this difficult time as I was out of town and sorry to hear of Juan leaving us. I will remember Juan as in his picture and hope everyone is taking this loss one day at a time. Take care and hope to see all of you soon.
