She was born on February 21st 1924 to Louis Walter Boesel Sr and Emilie Marie Andreason in Portland, Oregon at Emanuel Hospital. Her husband, Clifford, preceded her in February of 2001. They were married on August 23rd, 1947. There were two brothers that pre-deceased her, Ronald in 1958 and Wilmer in 1998.

Mary Lou's last official residence was at the Bonaventure Senior Living Center on the south side of Salem, Oregon. She grew up in the Portland and Albany areas and she also lived in Yamhill, Salem and over 50 years in Corvallis, OR prior to her last residence.

As a graduate of the Emanuel Hospital School of nursing she had a long career in the medical field and became a nurse practitioner. She culminated her career at the Oregon State University student health facility retiring in 1987.

Her life included extensive participation with arts and crafts. These included several forms of painting, wool spinning, knitting, sewing, crocheting and beading crafts. She wrote her correspondence, cards and letters using calligraphy. She also spent a lot of her time in her garden. Mary Lou was also an avid sports fan attending OSU events and watching the Seattle Mariners and the Portland Trailblazers.

Mary was such a kindly lady. She worked in the room across from me at the OSU Health Center.
Therefore, we were able to get to know each other very well. She was a really wonderful person. I loved her & so did everyone else.

She will be greatly missed.

Love to all the family.

Mary and I worked together at Student Health Services at OSU for many years. We got to know each other better as retirees later in life and I enjoyed lunches with her & her fellow nursing friends including my mother Trudy Jacob. We all missed her very much when she moved to Salem.

My condolences to your family and we will keep you in our prayers.

Sincerely,
Judy Jacob McCann

Mary Lou was always a loving caring lady. She always asked about family. I wish I would have taken the time to get to know her better. My heart goes out to my cousins. God be with you.

Aunt Mary Lou was a gracious, elegant, well-educated lady who I will always remember with fondness. My earliest memory is of her wedding day, admiring her beautiful long white gown and train. Another special memory is that she and Uncle Cliff remembered me the first Christmas they were married. It was an unexpected delightful surprise. Busy lives kept me from knowing and learning from Mary Lou as much as I might have, which is my loss. But I'm thankful for the times I have had the pleasure of her company,
