Maureen Ernst Obituary
Mt. Angel - April 4, 1949-April 28, 2018
Maureen Ernst, 69, of Mt. Angel, passed away after a short, but fierce fight with cancer. Maureen was a leader of numerous community organizations in Mt. Angel and St. Paul, including the St. Paul Catholic Church, Historical Society along with Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce, Lion's Club, and Hazelnut Festival, only to name a few.
"Grammy" was a spirited sports fan and attended hundreds of her children and grandchildren's games. She was the ultimate competitor from the stands.
Maureen is survived by her children, Angela Capps (Troy), Ben Ernst (Ann) and Madeline Tanner (Rob); and grandchildren: Margo Metcalf-Capps, McKaylie and Brynn Capps; Zachary and Riley Ernst; and Kellen and Allison Tanner. Siblings Sue Price (Jim), Peggy Sellers (John), Mary Paret (Jack) and Dan Drescher (Jodi). She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Marguerite Drescher.
Funeral services are May 4, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul. Rosary is at 10:30 a.m. and Mass at 11:00 a.m.
Donations may be sent to the Mt. Angel Chamber of Commerce and/or the Redmond High School Girls Basketball Team, Redmond, OR.

Maureen Ernst was a remarkable woman who did so much for so many years to benefit our community. She was an impressive, vibrantly alive person, who always carried herself with such grace and good humor. We will always remember her kindness to us when we first moved here. Her legacy of service to this community will long be remembered, and her strong, cheerful presence in this town will be deeply missed.

We will miss her smile and laughter. In her volunteer work I am sure she will be missed because she did so much for the community. We will miss our cousin. MaryJane and the rest of the family
