Michael Millican Obituary

DETROIT - Michael was born in Salem, Ore. on October 3rd 1964. He lived in Hubbard, Ore. until 1978 when he moved with his family to Detroit, Ore. He was born to William and Martha Millican and was the 9th of ten children of a very close loving family. He loved the outdoors, especially camping and gathering firewood for his mother. He loved to spend time with his many friends. His sense of humor was his strength. Mike was a big man with a big heart and will be missed by many. Mike served on the flag ship, with Navy, stationed in Bahrain. He was a mill worker, logger and a gold miner in Oregon, Alaska, Washington, and Nevada. Michael was a single father to his son Michael William Millican, who was his reason for living. He is also survived by his two grown daughters, Melissa and Misty Millican. Michael was preceded in death by his father, William David Millican in 1991 and older brother, James Irving Millican in 2000. Michael is survived by his mother, Martha Millican whom he loved dearly and whom he entrusted with his only son in his absence from home. He was also survived by his sisters, Diane Millican of Salem, Ore., Mary and Bill Steele of Coos Bay, Ore., Shirley Lacey of Juneau, Alaska, Susan and John Crowder of Detroit, Ore., Darlene and Sonny Emery of Ione, Wash., Sally Hadley and Tim Wright of Veneta, Ore., Linda and Ken Polk of Juneau, Alaska; only surviving brother, John Millican of Ione, Wash.; nephew, David Millican of Coos Bay, Ore., and many other nieces and nephews. Michael's whishes were to have his ashes spread high up in the mountains in Oregon. The Millican family is planning to hold his Memorial on July 4th.
