Rebecca Thorn Obituary
Salem - December 4, 1932 - May 6, 2019
Becky passed away peacefully on May 6th in her home, surrounded by family. Becky (Henderson) Thorn was born to Edith and Clyde Henderson in Ainsworth, Nebraska. She was the youngest of 8. Her family moved to Salem in 1944. She graduated from Salem High School, class of 1950, and that summer met the love of her life - Robert (Bob) Thorn. They were married on November 25th, 1950 and spent the next 68 years together setting the most perfect example of an everlasting love. After only 4 months of marriage, in March of 1950, Bob was drafted into the Army and sent to Ft. Devins, Massachusetts. Becky joined him in August of 1951 where they welcomed their first child, Robert Irving in 1952. In March of 1953, the young family traveled home to Oregon in an old 1942 Chevy. In 1955, the happy couple welcomed a beautiful daughter, Vickie Carolyn. In 1956, on their 6th wedding anniversary, they completed their family with another beautiful baby girl, Lucinda Irene. Becky had several part-time jobs through the years, but spent most of her time as a stay at home mom. She excelled at being the best wife, mother and grandmother. Her family was always her greatest joy. Becky was a long time member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, and all 7 siblings - Eleanor, Edna, Marvel, Jean, Patty, Robert, and Donald. In 2013, she lost her daughter, Vickie Harbaugh. Becky is survived by her husband Bob; her children Bob (Debi) and Cindy (Bruce); 4 grandchildren - Angela, Robert, Erick, and Emily; 4 great grandsons - Lucas, Robert, Jackson, and Matthew and great granddaughter Aubry. Becky was excitedly anticipating the arrival of her newest great grandson, Everitt, who is due in June.
A celebration of life was held Monday May 13, 2019 at Christ the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 4440 State Street in Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Willamette Valley Hospice, 1015 3rd St NW Salem, OR 97304.

Aunt Becky is missed by all of her nieces and nephews she was always the favorite aunt.

Aunt Becky was truely a wonderful lady. Growing up all of her neices and nephew couldnt wait to have a visit with her and uncle Bob. Soar with the angels aunt Becky .We loned you so much.
