Roy Phelps Obituary

Roy Edward Phelps

February 9, 1924 - May 10, 2015

Roy Edward Phelps was Born February 9th, 1924 in Lone Mountain, Tennessee - and Entered into the Presence of Jesus, peacefully May 10th, 2015 at his home in Salem, Oregon.

The family moved to Oregon in 1944. Roy enrolled in Bethesda Bible Institute where Roy met Roberta. Roy and Roberta were married on February 10th, 1947. They had 6 children, Joel (who died in infancy), Rebecca, Ramona, Rhonda, Renee, and Ronald.

Roy pastored several churches and operated his own Painting Company in Salem, Oregon.

Several years after Roy and Roberta divorced, Roy married Frances Sowa.

One of Roy's delights was attending Gateway Community Church each week and enjoying a meal with the family.

Roy is preceded in death by his Mother: Birdie Florence, Father: Willie Edward, Sister: Mary, Wife: Roberta, and Son: Joel.

Roy is survived by his Brother: Paul, Sisters: Martha & Eddie, Wife: Frances, Daughters: Rebecca, Ramona, Rhonda, Renee; and Son: Ronald. Roy has many Precious Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will commence at Gateway Community Church, 922 Hylo Rd. SE Salem, Saturday May 30th at 2:00pm. You may leave a written tribute for Roy at www.anewtradition.com
