Ruby L. Hartman

STAYTON - Ruby, 76, died Sunday in Stayton. She was born in Dallas and has called the Willamette Valley her home all her life, while being a military wife. She lived in Salem and Turner before moving to Stayton one year ago. Ruby served in the US Army in the Korean War. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for the State of Oregon Treasury Department. Ruby was a member of the American Legion Post #149 and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans). She enjoyed reading, going to Spirit Mountain and spending time with her friends. Ruby is survived by her sons, Wade (Kathy) Hartman of Shelton, Wash., Martin Hartman of Lapine, and Paul (Barb) Hartman of Milwaukie; daughter, Juanita Pruett of Stayton; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Agnes (Earl) Cooper ; four sisters, Myrtle, Aldeen, Wilda, and Dorothy; and four brothers, Earl, David, Sumner, and Donovan. Ruby was the last surviving member of the line.   Potluck Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2008 at the Scottish Rite Temple on S. Commercial in Salem. Donations  may be made to Willamette Valley Hospice. Arrangements are by North Santiam Funeral Service, Stayton.
