Troy Archer Obituary
February 25, 1935 - February 6, 2014
Troy Archer, born on February 25, 1935 passed from this mortal world on February 6, 2014. How do you replace a beloved husband, totally adored Dad, great brother, Granddad to many? Of course you can't. Troy was a unique, special, wonderful guy. Many loved him. He has been a realtor in the Salem area for years. His early childhood years were happily spent on a farm in Brooks, Oregon on Lake Labish. He had lots of advantages that go with the country life. A beautiful quarter horse named Flicka and lots of dogs. He rode horses with his buddies. Troy went to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic grade school and became a Catholic. He took the name of Frances. Troy joined the Paratroopers in the U.S. Military. He loved animals of all sorts and tons of friends. He was very gregarious. He loved to hunt and fish with his son Joe and his stepsons. Joe will carry forth his banner. Heather, his daughter, loves him deeply. Tory has another beloved son named Jeremy, who is a teacher in Texas that he was very proud of. Troy leaves behind many nieces and nephews, many grandkids, wonderful stepsons, Keith and Danny, who are taking good care of Becky, whom he proudly called his bride on Facebook. We all look forward to meeting him again in the heavenly Kingdom with his Mom and Dad and his stepson Jamey Ray, who preceded him. Troy suffered the last few months with cancer.
Services are to be held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon at 1:00 on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014. Friends and relatives will gather at Troy and Becky's home after the service.

Papa,
Words cannot express the hurt I have in my heart that you are gone. Still unbelievable that you are no longer with us all. I miss the love that you gave to me, your kind words, your amazing stories, and most of all....I miss seeing you across the street waving and yelling something at me to let me know that you could see me. You were an amazing father in law, I will cherish and hold my memories I have of us all very close to my heart forever. I love you Papa and hope you let Jamey know how much we all miss him so much. I know how much you missed him and I'm happy you finally got to meet again.

I recall many great times with Troy and a mutual friend,Otie, when we were young men. Although we didn't see each other often as we grew older, I've always considered him a lifetime friend. I'm sorry he is gone from this world.
