Vicki Lynn Atkins

October 23, 1962 - October 29, 2014

Vicki Atkins, 52, of Salem, OR passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 29th, 2014. She is survived by her son Anthony Deleon; Mom, Linda Atkins; brother Brad Atkins (Christina); nephew Casey Atkins and nieces Kayleen and Kelsey Atkins.

Vicki was born October 23rd, 1962 in Redding, California and moved to Oregon with her Mom, Dad and brother in 1970. She attended Cascade High School in Turner, OR where she was involved in Cascadians, choir, cheerleading and many other school activities. She attended Oregon State University and was an avid Oregon State Beaver fan. She worked for her parents in the family grocery business "Atkins Thriftway". She started out sorting bottles and worked her way up managing the daily bookkeeping activities of four stores.

Vicki had a contagious laugh, smile and love for life. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved going camping, boating and dancing with her friends and family. Throughout Vicki's life she had a passion for animals which included her dogs, cats and horses. Vicki loved to go to garage sales and find items to fix up to resell. Her most favorite thing to do was spending time with her son Anthony. They liked to go to movies or drive to the Oregon coast for fun.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4pm Monday, November 3rd at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service, 605 Commercial Street SE, Salem, OR followed by a gathering in the banquet room at Marco Polo Restaurant located at 300 Liberty St SE, Salem, OR 97301. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Oregon Humane Society.

I went to high school with Vicki, and my brother, David Keagle, was one of her best friends. We were in the hospital at the same time having our sons, on the same day, February 14, 1986. We kept in touch over the years with Christmas cards, and going to lunch. I am sure my brother, David, was at the gates of Heaven to usher her in, and was so happy to see her!
