Frank Olearczyk

Frank S. Olearczyk, 67, of Statesville, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born Oct. 1, 1942, in South Deerfield, Mass., to the late Stanley and Veronica Olearczyk. Mr. Olearczyk started out working on his grandparents' farm and at the age of 16 he began his long and extensive career in the textile industry. He worked all over the northeastern and southeastern states, but always came back to his adopted home, Statesville. Mr. Olearczyk enjoyed being out on the lake on his boat and at home pursuing his favorite pastime, working in the yard. He was preceded in death by his youngest sister, Jean Lysick; and the love of his life, Carol Sue Murray. Survivors include his brother, Michael Olearczyk; two sisters, Judith Kluttz (Bruce), and Carol Olearczyk; and a nephew, Peter Malkasian. Frank will be missed by his family and numerous friends and especially by his girls, Stormy the cat, and Pepper and Baby, his dogs. A memorial Mass to celebrate Frank's life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Statesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625.
