Jesse Jarvis Obituary

Jesse Lee Jarvis, 60, of 227 Lippard Farm Road, Statesville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, Oct. 6, 2008, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 29, 1948, to Mildred Call Jarvis and the late William C. Jarvis. Mr. Jarvis attended Iredell County schools. He was a retired painter and a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He had many friends and never met a stranger. Mr. Jarvis loved fishing, the beach, his family and his God. Mr. Jarvis was preceded in death by a son, Jason Lee Jarvis; and a brother, Donald "Squeaky" Jarvis of Texas. Survivors include his loving companion, Melody Call; two daughters, Linda Jarvis of South Carolina, and Melissa Jarvis Meredith (Joe) of Olin; two stepdaughters, Staci and Traci Call of Statesville; a sister, Virginia Greer (Kenny) of Olin; two brothers, Percy Jarvis (Evelyn), and Ralph Jarvis (Sue), all of Statesville; a very special nephew, Tyler Jarvis of Statesville; numerous nieces and nephews; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One grandson, Jeffrey Lee Jarvis, is stationed in Iraq. A memorial service honoring the life of Jesse Jarvis will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Baptist Church. The Rev. John Parks will officiate. Reavis Funeral Home of Statesville is serving the family of Jesse Jarvis. The Jarvis family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Iredell Memorial Hospital; and to Dr. Carla Pence and Dr. Ray Georgeson, for the special kindness they showed to the Jarvis family.
