Louie "Lou" Sam Crye, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021, at Davis Hospital in Statesville, after a very short and hard battle with COVID-19.
Born Nov. 25, 1936, he was the son of the late Pattie J.V. Jordan Crye and Ernest Lester Crye. Mr. Crye attended U.N.C. Chapel Hill and High Point University. He was a volunteer at the VA Hospital for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Ernestine Harris of Star, Angela McManus (Gary) of York, S.C., and Patty Crye of Hendersonville; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; three great-great-nieces; and four great-great-nephews.
Mr. Crye was buried with full military rites and honors at Salisbury National Cemetery Tuesday, Sept. 28, at 2 p.m.
