Bennie Wright Obituary
Bennie Wright Jr., 75, of St. Augustine, passed away on Oct. 27, 2009, at Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring in Jacksonville.
Bennie was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. He attended Excelsior School for a time and began working at the age of 12 years old.
He worked in the maintenance department at Flagler College for 23 years. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his companion and caretaker, Mary E. Crooms, of St. Augustine; three sons; a daughter; sisters, Lou, Carrie, Margaret, Edith and Rosalie; a brother, Gipson "Gip" Wright, and his wife, Margaret; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carrie and Bennie Wright Sr.; a sister, Annie Mae; and two brothers, Willie and Charlie Wright.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, 385 State Road 207, with the Rev. Craig Eby. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
