Born in Green Cove Springs, she had lived in St. Augustine most of her life and attended St. Augustine High School. She worked in the bakery at Publix Grocery Store on U.S. 1 in St. Augustine for many years, retiring in the early 1990s.
Dee's life work and passion was telling people about Jesus. She had a heart for children and was a mother to many who were not her own. Her house was always full. She had been a member of Baraca Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde T. Forsythe, and two sons, Henry Forsythe and Michael Forsythe.
She is survived by her daughters, Janette Forsythe of Brunswick, Ga., and Helen Roos of St. Augustine; a son, Matthew Forsythe, of St. Augustine; a sister, Jeanette J. Martin, of Port Orange, Fla.; brothers, Charles B. Jones, and his wife, Evelyn, of St. Augustine, Victor Jones, and his wife, Betty, of Port Orange, Fla., and Harry C. Jones, and his wife, Eleanor, of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; and grandchildren, James Milligan II, Lonnie Milligan, Charles Forsythe, Eric Forsythe, Daniel Forsythe, Dale Forsythe, Rex Williamson, Angela Price, Michelle Forsythe, Michael Forsythe and Candace Posey.
Private services will be held.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
