Holly Sheets Obituary
Holly Amber Sheets passed away at her home on February 18, 2021 following a long disabling neurological illness. Holly was 53.
Holly was one of three children born to Gayle and Lenna Sheets from Osgood, Indiana. After growing up in Osgood and Carmel Indiana, Holly went on to earn a BS in Biology from Indiana University in 1991 and a Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in 1995.
Following a 3 year residency in Baltimore, Maryland, she moved to Florida, and established the Florida Foot and Ankle practice in Palatka and St. Augustine, FL. Holly ran her practice with great skill and compassion until the onset of her illness.
On July 4, 1998, just prior to moving to Florida, Holly married the love of her life, Gregory Siewiorek.
Together they built their dream house on Anastasia Island where they often enjoyed entertaining family and friends, with a good conversation and a good glass of wine.
Her interest in the arts included both collecting Florida artists' paintings as well as designing intricate jeweled pendants. Holly was a member of the Junior Service League of St. Augustine for 7 years and served on the Board of Trustees of the St. Augustine Lighthouse.
She was known and admired by so many for her intelligence, determination, hard work, and compassion. Her kindness and Love of Life was truly an inspiration.
Holly will be deeply missed by her husband Greg, mother Lenna, brothers and sisters in law, Kirby and Becky Sheets, and Kebe and Diana Sheets.
A celebration of Life will be held from 2-7pm on Wednesday, March 3 on the front lawn of the St. Augustine Lighthouse with a short eulogy at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made on Holly's behalf to the Junior Service League of St. Augustine and/or the St. Augustine Lighthouse.

From even before the Celebrity Cabaret up to sharing a toast this past Christmas, I will always treasure the hours of deep conversation and nights of wine and laughter. Holly’s compassion and wicked sense of humor are just two of the many qualities she had that I will always cherish. I love you and miss you my friend.

Ron and I have joined Holly & Greg many times for football get togethers at their beautiful home.
I remember meeting Holly for the first time when her and Greg came to our home for Ron’s 50th birthday party.
What a blast we all had!
God bless you Greg she couldn’t have had a more compassionate husband to care for her.

I have admired Holly ever since she agreed to volunteer her time to participate in the 2005 Celebrity Cabaret as Mazeppa in "You Gotta Get a Gimmick" from Gypsy. Holly blossomed in the performance and over the course of rehearsals and late nights of hilarity and fun, we became friends. The photo is my wonderful cast in the Gypsy number.

The unexpected loss of fellow Museum Board Member and Junior Service League friend, Holly Sheets, makes my heart ache. "Shine your light and make a positive impact on the world..." describes her well. She was a shining example of how to rise above limitations with grace and dignity. Keep her husband, Greg, in your thoughts and prayers as you celebrate a life well lived. In God's arms, she gently rests.
