I will always be grateful for the history lessons that Jerry and Rita Kass gave me, and hope I can pass them on with the kind of graciousness that they exhibited. St. Augustine always needs more people like them, and will forever be richer because they anchored our community for so long.

Robin, Barry, and family,
I just found out about your Dad and I am so sorry for your loss. When I worked at Hays Pharmacy (so many years ago)he would come in to check our stock and make our orders and he was always so kind and funny too. We looked forward to seeing him - he brightened our day. He was a very special person and I will remember him fondly. My heart goes out to you all.

Robin & Barry, Leslie and I are saddened by your dad's passing. He was an inspiration to all of us Kiwanians as an example of community service to others. Our city and county are better places for him having been a part of it for so many years. He is now resting in the arms of god where we hope to see him again one day.
RIP, Jerry

Sorry to hear of Jerry's death. He was the first person in Congregation that I met over 20 years ago and remained a good friend for many years, He will be missed by all who knew him. He was a good, kind, generous, intelligent, man who always had time for a good joke or good advice. He was to me Mr. St. Augustine.Rest in peace, dear Jerry.

Jerry is a bedrock of St. Augustine. The people that he influenced seems endless. I am proud to have known him, and RSVP is grateful that he chose over and over to make a lasting contribution in the lives of those in need.

Jerry was very much a part of my growing up in St. Augustine. When I needed someone to interview as a primary source for my essay on the Middle East conflict 23 years ago, Jerry invited me to sit on his porch and record our two hour conversation. He always treated people like he was genuinely glad to see them, and I believe he was one of the most authentic people I've ever met. When my husband was in a coma, and I needed to stop at McDonalds to collect my thoughts, Jerry was there to lend his ear and words of encouragement. Our synagogue will be a less interesting place without you, Jerry, and you will be dearly missed. I've never seen someone age so gracefully.
