He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Erma Mae (Atkinson); a son, William J. Severns, Doylestown, Pa.; a daughter, Cheryl L. Severns, St. Augustine; a sister, Iona Sorino, Edgewater; two grandchildren, Zachary Hesch Severns, Doylestown, Jesse Lee Severns, St. Augustine; and one great-grandson, Michael Richard Severns, St. Augustine.
Norman, formerly of Bucks County, Pa., retired from the E.G. Budd Company after 30 years and relocated to St. Augustine in 1986.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He served with the 5th Army, Mechanized Unit, and saw combat tours on North Africa, Anzio, Salerno and Monte-Cassino, Italy, and the European Theatre.
He was a life member of the VFW and a past post-commander of Post No. 245 in Sellersville, Pa. (1955-1957)
Private services are planned. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in his memory to the Parkinson's Disease Research Agency of your choice.
Kotrady-Hudgins-Croyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
