William Hanahan Obituary

William E. "Bill" Hanahan, 88, of St. Augustine, died on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Moultrie Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Lowell, Mass., and had resided in St. Augustine for the past 20 years. For many years he worked as an executive in the trucking industry. He was a 3rd and 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He was a former member of the St. Augustine Shores Men's Golf Association and was a member of the Riverview Club.

Funeral Service will be held this morning at 9 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Father William Mooney, Pastor officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to: Community Hospice of N.E. Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mary Hanahan of St. Augustine; daughters, Carol Grazini of Wesley Chapel, Fla., Sharon Ryan Norris of Lake Mary, Fla.; a sister, Alice Melvin of Engelwood, Fla., and five grandchildren.

Kotrady-Hudgins-Croyle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
