Norma "Granny" Roe Funderburg, age 85, of Pell City, Alabama passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Norma was born August 18, 1936 to William Lee and Jessie Pauline Sims Roe. Norma is survived by her daughter: Vickie Funderburg; grandchildren: Kelly Elmore (John) and April Hewitt (Kelly); great grandchildren: Weston Crumpton, Caroline Crumpton, Cole Crumpton, Emma Barnett, Pierce Barnett and Emalee Elmore; brother-in-law: William Pete Funderburg (Etheleen); sisters-in law: Myrtha Roe, Marie Roe, Patsy F. Edge and Miriam F. Finch; nephews: Clark Layton, Jeff Layton, Paul Layton and Drew Roe; nieces: Jamie Williams and Peaches Rodgers; beloved dog: Stella; and a host of extended family. Norma was preceded in death by her husband: Fall Funderburg Jr.; son: Frankie Funderburg; parents: Lee and Pauline Roe; sister: Ruby Anne Layton; and brothers: James Obie Roe and Terry Roe. Granny was instrumental in the development of the Mother's Day Out Program at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She worked in the nursery at Mt. Pisgah for many years. The love she had for children was evident with each baby she rocked. She also worked at Kmart for many years where she loved her daily interactions with customers. Granny made many friends while working at Kmart. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the front porch, reading, spending quality time with family and friends, and watching Alabama football. She always lived by the "Golden Rule". Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Granny was the matriarch of the family. She loved all and was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. A graveside service for Norma "Granny" was held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Coosa Valley Baptist Cemetery.
