Suzanne (Susie) Bishop Wingo (74) was born in 1947 in Birmingham, Alabama, to Edmund Leon Bishop and Margaret Fuqua Bishop. She wed Roger (Rip) Wallace Wingo, Jr. in 1967, and they had two daughters and one son. She departed this life on January 20 with her children by her bedside. She is survived by her two daughters Wendy Wingo Cimorelli of Dallas, TX and Amy Wingo Morrow (Jeremy) of Trussville, AL, a son Greg Wingo of Moody, AL and a sister Cindy Bishop Walker (Donald Ray) of Ashville, AL. In addition, she has 8 grandchildren Christian Lill, Alan Wingo (Emily), Cody Wingo, Jacob Wingo, Anna Cimorelli, Matthew Conwill, Michael Conwill and Lauren Cimorelli. Also she had two great-grandchildren Josiah Wingo and Amelia Wingo. Susie was retired from Southern Living Magazine after 30 years, and was very active in her church. However, she will most be remembered as a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Visitation was at Kilgroe Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, January 27th at 11am-12pm with the chapel service beginning at 12:00 and a graveside service followed the memorial at the Alabama National Cemetery at 2pm where she was laid to rest next to her beloved late husband, Roger Wallace (Rip) Wingo, Jr. The family appreciates your prayers for them during this time.
