Chris Voelker Obituary

Chris Lee Voelker, 45, LaCrosse/Whitehall, joined his buddy, Duece, AKA "D-Train" his beloved black lab on Nov. 18, 2011.He was born March 30, 1966, in Stevens Point. Chris attended SPASH and graduated with academic honors. He was a very gifted athlete and still holds unbroken records in Football and Track. He attended Northern Michigan University on a football scholarship. He later attended UWL La Crosse and was most recently planning to further his education at Viterbo University in LaCrosse. He was joined in marriage to Michelle, Dec. 16, 2000. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and wildlife photography. He worked for Kwik Trip/Convenience Transportation, Inc. for over 15 years, where he was respected, well liked and made many friends. He now resides "Where Eagles Fly" to join his niece, Katie Voelker, for more musky fishing adventures and to chase birds with Duece who has been ever so faithfully waiting for his forever friend!

He is survived by his siblings, Gary, Ron, Paulette, Bruce and Candy along with their spouses; nephews; nieces; his love, Michelle; and his ever loyal friend, Chris Ferch and his family, as well as many friends.

A memorial/celebration of life gathering will be held at Drugan's W7665 Sylvester Rd. Holmen, on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Coulee Region Humane Society, 911 Critter Court, Onalaska, 54650. Attn: "Duece's Dad."

Michelle,
So sorry to hear the sad news about Chris. My heart goes out to you for your loss. Whenever you lose someone you love it is one of the most devastating experience's a person can face. Suddenly, everything has changed! But, remembering all the wonderful times you shared will always comfort you. And at times such as this, it really makes us realize what a blessing life is and appreciate those we love. Life is too short! Rely on the God of Love, to sustain you thru your intense sadness. By asking, He will give you the power beyond what is normal to keep going! Others need you! May the love of those around you support you now and in the future.

I worked with Chris when he first started at Kwik Trip. We were all like family helping eachother through tough times. I have many fond memories of him. To his brothers and sisters, he spoke highly of you. To Michelle, I am sorry you have lost someone so wonderful. I worked with Chris at Kwik Trip for a long time. I was blessed to be able see the wonderful things he did for himself and to watch become the evem more wonderful man who married Michelle. He is a special friend to me and my memories will always be blessed with him in them. I know he has found the peace his soul was seeking and my thoughts and prayers are with his family always.
