Clara Stanchik Obituary
Clara A. Stanchik, 75, of Stevens Point, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital with her sons by her side.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1941, in Knowlton, to the late Frank and Verna (Hintz) Rozak, and was a 1960 graduate of Mosinee High School. On May 19, 1962, her marriage to Joseph Stanchik took place at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Knowlton. Joseph died on June 26, 1991.
Following high school, Clara had worked at Employers Mutual Insurance Company in Wausau, then became a stay-at-home mom when her sons were born. She later worked in policy processing at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point for 25 years before retiring. She enjoyed reading, won many bowling awards and she loved her family and pets.
Survivors include her sons, Shawn and Lance Stanchik; and brothers, Harry (Dorothy) Rozak and Richard Rozak. In addition to her parents and husband, Clara was preceded in death by her sister, Irene King; and brother, Leonard Rozak.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday morning in the St. Faustina Room of the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time for Mass.
