David Creighton Obituary

David N. Creighton, 48, of Plover, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Nov. 19, 2011.

He was born Feb. 23, 1963, in Walton of Thames in England and resided in Plover, for the past seven years.

Dave grew up in England and immigrated to the United States seven and a half years ago when he married the love of his life, Connie DeCorte on Feb. 21, 2004, in Daytona Beach, Fla.

He had over twenty years of experience as a carpenter and joiner. Ten of those years were teaching, and designing programs in developing countries while serving in the VSO (a British program similar to the Peace Corps). Before immigrating to America, he was a senior instructor/team and safety leader for a youth carpentry apprentice program in England. For the past four years he worked at McCain Foods as a production labor worker.

Dave will be remembered for his kind heart, English humor, accent, and gentle smile. He loved his dog, Sam, and loved and adored his wife Connie. Dave loved building and flying Radio Controlled Helicopters. He was a member of the River Valley Flyers.

He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Creighton, Plover; his Mum, Jean Cox, England; Dad, Ian (Leslie) Creighton, England; brother, Philip (Tricia) Creighton, England; niece, Gemma (Joe) Harris, England; and two nephews, Scott and Robert Creighton, England.

Dave is preceded in death by his stepfather, Ron Cox.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m., Nov. 23, 2011, at Boston Funeral Home, Stevens Point, with The Rev. David Guerrero officiating. Visitation will precede the service Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Online condolences May be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Portage County 4-H Program.

Dave will be dearly missed.

Connie~I just wanted to tell you how sorry I am to hear about David's passing. I worked with him at McCain's and I just want you to know that he was a very sweet man. I loved his English humor....he always made us smile or laugh at work. He will be missed terribly. I won't be able to pay my respects since I will be having visitation for my mother who also passed away this past weekend from a 10 year battle of cancer. You have my deepest sympathy.
