Gone from us that smiling face. The jokes he had for us each day
The heart that won so many friends. He always knew just what to say
From sharing life stories with a jest. Or just to sit around and chat
He for sure would be there with you. In his favorite baseball cap
So let's get together and have one more. To remember a life so bright
To cheer him one more time together. And celebrate his wonderful life

Dave was my cousin and we grew up together in the UP of Michigan. Our mother's were sisters and we were a very close family. I am so sorry we didn't know to attend this event celebrating Dave's life, which are many years of memories. I spoke to Dave quite often on the phone, and the last time was a month ago. He loved talking about all the great times we had with Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He was here to visit us last summer and we had a great time as he always had a story to tell. My husband and Dave were friends from their high school days and Dave loved telling the story of how they left school one day to hitch hike to Philadelphia to be on American Bandstand but ran out of money 100 miles away. In case, you who are too young to remember it was the biggest TV show in the '60s with Dick Clark hosting it. We lived in Milwaukee in the 70's so Dave and I always stayed tuned to each other, he brought me his dog to dog sit for for a few days, Dave forgot to mention the dog suffered separation anxiety and when we left it alone a few hours we came home to all the drapes torn down and carpeting chewed, he also forgot to tell us he didn't drink out of a water dish but drank out of the toilet! If I remember right the dog didn't have a name, that's Dave for you! We had the pleasure of meeting his Dear wife Marlene. A real Blessing for Dave. Dave will always be remembered by his humor, and the caring person he was. All of his cousins are deeply saddened by his passing. We will miss you forever and wsh we could have said goodbye. You will live forever in our hearts. Love Marilyn and Charlie Gustafson
