Frederick "Fritz" J. Filtz, 51, of Stevens Point, passed away on Friday, September 14th as a result of a drowning incident during a heroic attempt to assist a friend in need. Sisters - Cindy (Tom-deceased) Ferg Rosholt, Candace (Sonny) Meronk of Rosholt, Judy (Alan) Budleski of Williams Bay, and Kathy (Chris) Ostrowski, Rosholt and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Fritz was a fun loving, supportive father, brother and friend. He loved spending time with his family and friends but most of all with his 2 sons. He loved the outdoors, playing disc golf and poker with his son Justin, hunting with his son Jordan, carpentry work and lived life like a treasure hunt, always open to new experiences & meeting new people. Fritz experienced many different careers including working with his father in the family carpentry business, his own spray foam insulation& roofing business, working at the Stevens Point School district and CAP Services. He was an intricate part of the renovation of the Rock Island Lighthouse up in Washington Island, Door County which was a project he was very proud of and spent many happy times and vacationed there with Justin and Jordan. When he was young, I was always worried he would pass from frog-head poisoning ...this was too sudden, and difficult to believe. He was lucky to have a great family that loved and cared for him very deeply. Much love to all of the family and know you are in the prayers of so many today.

Our deepest sympanthy to whe Filtz family, Fritz was a great person, and always made everyone smile...A time that I laugh about the most, is him and his bicycle with the motor, our little guy thought that was the coolest thing ever, racing Fritz down the field...He will be greatly missed by many.

To Karen,Fritz's Mom and Dad and family, Glenn and I will always remember Fritz as a witty funny guy even with the problems he had he still shined thru,I remember one time him asking GGlenn to come and hang out in the garage with him and me telling him go call 1-800 dial a friend ( I was mad at him at the time LOL) and he said now that hurt he knows I didn't mean it and the cornball that he was I can just imagine him going up to Sain Peter at the pearly gates and before admitting him in he gives Fritz a good boot in the butt throu the gate and them both laughing as Fritz goes sailing thru lol we all need to remember the good times RIP Fritz
