Gerry (Geraldine A.) Chekouras, passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Gerry was born in Harvard, IL, on the 16th of June to Mary Jane (Scott) and Joseph Wolfe. They moved to Beloit, WI, shortly thereafter. She often spoke of her Irish lineage and remembered visiting her grandparents farm in IL where there was lots of laughter, Irish dancing and Irish music played o the "fiddles". Gerry attended Beloit Schools and graduated from Beloit High School. After graduating, Gerry worked for the Beloit Telephone Company as an Operator and later doing secretarial work at Fairbanks Morse.

Gerry married Carl Chekouras at St. Thomas Catholic Church on March 2, 1946 and had a very happy, loving marriage. They raised three children who meant everything to her, Dave, Carl and Sue. She loved children, music, flowers, and laughter. One of her family's greatest joys was to get her laughing so hard she couldn't speak. That happened often and got everyone else laughing along with her. She was a happy woman who wanted others to be happy too.

Gerry, Carl and Sue ultimately moved to Stevens Pont, WI and settled in the house in Plover, WI they bought half finished and Carl and Gerry completed the work themselves. She was a strong Catholic woman and often said hers was a "religion of love". She was fiercely protective of her children, her friends and anyone who needed her help. She was quick with a smile and there with a shoulder to cry on. More than anything she loved her family.

Gerry is survived by her two sons, David (Joyce) Chekouras and Carl Chekouras; daughter, Susan (Kenneth Turzinski) Chekouras; and her granddaughter, Jenica Chekouras.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl and her brother Donald Wolfe.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial for Gerry will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, 2222 Shopiere Road Beloit, WI, with Fr. Michael Resop officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the church. Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, assisted the family with arrangements.
