Johnson, Johnny

Johnny (Warren) Johnson, age 74 of Kronenwetter died Saturday, September 6, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

He was born on August 13, 1940 in Omaha, NE to the late Algot C. and Violette M. (Carlstrom) Johnson. Johnny entered the Marine Corps in San Diego, CA on January 5, 1957 and was honorably discharged December 17, 1964. He married Marilyn May Dyslin on November 26, 1960 in Wahoo, NE. She preceded him in death on May 3, 2006. Johnny lived in Nebraska and Iowa before moving to Wisconsin in April of 1969.

He worked for Midwest Coca Cola Bottling in Wausau until 1993. He founded JJ Water Systems in October of 1993. In 2005 Johnny sold the business and retired so that he could wholly devote himself to his beloved wife in her remaining time with him.

Johnny was a life member of the Wausau Area Jaycees and current member of Wausau Area Fourth of July Committee. He was the General Chairman in 1974 for the Wausau Area Jaycees Fourth of July Celebration, past Member of the Wausau Noon Optimist Club, where he served on the Board of Directors from 1985 to 1986 and then as Vice President from 1986-1987. He was also a member of the CWN Club of Stevens Point.

He is survived by two sons, Ted Johnson of Rothschild and Rodney (Amy) Johnson of Appleton; one daughter, Sarah (Michael) Kraemer of Rothschild; 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Jenna, Heather, Darren, Hailey, and Nathan; two sisters, Alice Clough of Omaha, NE and Arlene (Burdette) Bennett of Lincoln, NE; one brother, Richard Johnson of Lake Tapps, WA; one niece, Sue (Bill) Konkel of Wittenberg; many nieces and nephews; and special friend, Jan Ronchetto.

Besides Johnny's parents and wife, he is preceded in death by one son, Daniel M. Johnson; one sister, Gladys Remmeried; and parents-in-law Chester and Viola Dyslin.

Celebration of Life will take place at Brainard Funeral Home, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2014.

The family would like to thank all the staff at the Cancer Center at Saint Clare's Hospital; all the staff that took care of Dad at St Joseph's Hospital with a special note of thanks to Nurse Lauren in the Oncology Unit and the staff in the Palliative Care Unit.

John was a friendly and caring person who always put the other person first. We knew him through our CWN dance group and whenever you met John he had a friendly greeting and a handshake. We are all very sorry to hear of his passing. God Bless you John.
