Kirk Strong Obituary

Strong, Kirk Robert

December 21, 1964 -

June 16, 2014

Kirk Robert Strong, 49, of Cedarburg, WI, went to his eternal heavenly home on June 16, 2014. He was born on December 21, 1964, in Stevens Point, WI, a child of Joseph and Jean (Obst) Strong.

Kirk graduated from Stevens Point Area Senior High in 1983, he then graduated UW-Stevens Point in 1987, receiving the Chancellor Leadership Award. Finally Kirk then earned an MFA from CUNY Brooklyn in 1989.

After college Kirk then moved to Los Angeles, CA and worked with the "New Candid Camera" TV show, among other projects on the west coast. In 1992, Kirk met Mary Jennings and soon moved back to Wisconsin. Kirk and Mary married in July of 1994. The couple eventually settled in Cedarburg, WI where they lived until divorcing in 2012.

Kirk began his own business Strong Interactive Media in March of 2000, later becoming Smart Interactive Media. He was President and CEO until it's sale in July 2013. Recently Kirk was employed as Director of Marketing for American Paper and Packaging as well as Fastrack.

Kirk had a life long love of music, he wrote songs, played guitar and sang in numerous bands through out his life, most recently "the Merkins." Kirk also enjoyed fishing, playing hockey, as well as spending time with his family, especially his two children, Zander and Maddie. Kirk was also generous with his time, helping others in AA as a sponsor and mentor. Kirk was also very involved in his church, Pilgrim United Church of Christ.

Kirk is survived by his children, Alexander and Madison Rose Strong of Cedarburg, WI; his father, Joseph F. Strong of Cape Coral, FL; his brother, Brian (Martha) Strong of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; his sisters, Pamela (Tim) Dieckman of Menomonee Falls, WI; and Paula (George) Slattery of Raymond, WI.

Memories of Kirk will live on with us all as we remember him with great love. Kirk very much loved his mother, Jean C. Strong, and has now joined her in heaven, never to be separated again.

A Memorial service will also be held on Saturday, July 5, 2014, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 2011 10th St S, Wisconsin Rapids, WI 54494. Visitation will begin at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM. A light lunch and fellowship will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts will be accepted for the "Kirk Strong Kids to Camp Memorial Fund" at Pilgrim UCC, 1621 2nd Ave, Grafton, WI 53024.
