Lenae Gruna

Hatley - Lenae M. Gruna, age 70 of Hatley, passed away peacefully, at the UW Hospital and Clinics, in Madison, on February 3, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Lenae was born on February 22, 1947 in Wausau, the daughter of Edward and Augusta (King) Konkol.

Lenae attended and graduated from Wittenberg High School. After graduation, Lenae was employed at Wausau Insurance as well as Sentry Insurance before buying the family farm in Pike Lake. She was married to Thomas Gruna, they later divorced. Along with taking care of the family farm, she held several part-time positions while raising their son. A couple of those employment opportunities allowed Lenae to practice a love of hers . . . working with animals. Although her work was mostly clerical, she was able to be around all types of animals at the Birnamwood and Wittenberg Veterinarian Clinics.

Lenae enjoyed fishing whenever the opportunity arose, gardening, baking, crafts, bingo and taking part in "card club" for more than 30 years. Love of family, especially her grandchildren, always came first but the many pets throughout the years gave her great joy.

Lenae is survived by her son, David (Kristin) Gruna of Hatley; grandchildren, Devin and Rileigh Gruna; brother, James (LuAnn) Konkol of Pike Lake; Sister-in-law, Darlene Konkol of Custer; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jerome; two sisters, Patsy and Delores.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00A.M. at the PISARSKI FUNERAL HOME 703 2nd Street, Stevens Point, WI 54481 on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Family and friends are asked to visit from 9:00A.M. until the time of service on Saturday. Private family interment will be at a later date.
