Lillian Jakusz Obituary
She attended local schools, graduating from P.J. Jacobs High School. Lil also graduated from the school of Cosmetology in Milwaukee. Her marriage to Walter 'Wally' Jakusz took place on June 1 1953 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, after their wedding the couple settled in Stevens Point. Her husband Walter died on October 29, 2001.
Lillian worked as a beautician for Powder Puff Hair Salon and Barnaby's Beauty Salon. She also was a beautician for many years at the River Pines and the Portage County Health Care Center.
She was a member of the St. Peter's Rosary Society Rose #6, Catholic Women's Club, Polish Women's Alliance, Annual Lectures of Poland, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, She hosted the annual KC Christmas caroling party, Harmonia Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Polish Roman Catholic Union, Catholic Order of Foresters, Portage County Democratic Party, and was known as the St. Peter's Picnic pie lady. Lillian held office in many of the organizations that she belonged to.
She enjoyed parties, loved visiting with family and friends, loved to cook and bake for everyone, Lil and Wally always held an annual 4th of July party, she enjoyed bowling, going to the casino, playing cards especially pinochle, and also loved listening to polkas on the radio.
Survivors include her daughters, Debra Jakusz (Mike Gentry) and Cherye (Don) Rolnicki both of Stevens Point. 1st cousin, Jim Laskowski. Special cousin, Evelyn Bronk.
Niece, Cindy (Mark) Milkowski. Nephews, Jeff (Sue) Karcheski and Tim (Barb) Karcheski. Brother in laws, Joe Stanke and Carl (Brenda) Karcheski and an Aunt, Gen Schroder. She was survived by many friends and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister in law Lorraine Stanke.
The family would like to thank the Portage County Home and especially the Nurses, CNA's, Kitchen Staff and Activities Staff for their kindness and loving care shown to our mother. The care was outstanding.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am Tuesday January 24, 2012 at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday (Today) from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home Stevens Point and again on Tuesday from 9:30am until time of service in the Faustina room at the church. St. Peter's rosary society will combine with the parish rosary at 7:00pm Monday (Today) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lillian's name will be established at a later date. So sorry to hear of your mom's passing. She was the most welcoming warm woman every time I visited all those years in grade school. I have many happy memories of just sitting around and talking with her.....my thoughts and prayers are with you and Deb.

Deb, Cherye & Family, You have our heartfelt sympathy, love, care and prayers! She was so loved by us and our family! Our Daughter, Sherri named her third child and first Daughter, Lillian. The name lives on. Her fond memories lives on in all of the hearts that know her.

Sorry to hear about your mom! My mother-in-law was across the hall from her for awhile in the nursing home. We lost her last April. Lillian always had a smile when we where vising Carol. Our prayers are with you in this difficult time. God Bless you all.
