Mary E. Jakusz, age 89, of Mequon, WI, died peacefully Monday, February 27, 2017 at her home at River Oaks.

Mary was born on March 20, 1927 in Plover, WI, the daughter of the late Harold and Olive (Newby) Hale. She attended the local schools and graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in Stevens Point. She married Myron Jakusz on June 6, 1947.

Mary dedicated her life to loving and caring for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed collecting Beanie Babies and Anri wood carvings. She will be remembered for her spirited nature and beautiful smile.

Mary is survived by her 2 daughters, Karen Hale (Jon Jacobs) of Mayville, WI, Patti Hale (Dave Reuter) of Mequon, WI and 3 sons, Kent (Jenifer Ebel), Tom (Lisa) and Bob all of Stevens Point, WI. She has 7 beautiful grandchildren: Lori (Raymond) Bauer, Cherise Raflik, Keith and Kory (Michele)Wiegerling, Jessica Jakusz, Sarah (Casey) Kelch and Katelyn Jakusz. She was also blessed with 7 beautiful great-grandchildren, Brian, Heidi and Rachel Bauer, Sage Raflik, Elliot, Elijah and Zoey Wiegerling. She is also survived by a sister Olive Newby, Sister-in-law Mary Hale and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Myron, her parents Harold and Olive Hale, 2 brothers, Wayne and Charles Hale.

There will be a private family service at the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. Please no flowers just loving thoughts and prayers, and smiles to warm your day.

Donations are not necessary but can be directed to Shuda Funeral Chapel to be used as a special thank you to the staff at River Oaks who so lovingly cared for our Mother through her final days. There is no way to express our gratitude.

Perhaps they are not stars in the sky, but rather openings in Heaven where our loved ones shine down upon us to let us know they are happy.
