Michael Secor Obituary

Michael J. Secor

Stevens Point - Michael J. Secor, age 66, of Stevens Point passed away August 14, 2018.

Michael was born October 9, 1951 in Stevens Point to Jack and Lucille (Chown) Secor.

He has 2 sisters: Pat Harry (St Pt), Kathy Secor (CA ) who love him and miss him tremendously. His son is Jack Frausto (MN) with his four grandchildren. Mike's friend from 2nd grade- Paul Kirsch - stood with him through life's faults, highs and lows.

Mike went to St Stephen's, then P. J. Jacobs high school. He joined the US Navy Submarines right after high school. After the navy Mike worked for 13 years at Joerns in Stevens Point.

Mike was also employed at Hoffer Glass manufacturing (now Oldcastle Glass ) Wausau, Wisconsin. Mike retired at 62 and lived at Fireside Apartments. Years back Mike owned a Harley Sportster, his first two wheeled love. His son Jack is a mirror image in appearance and love for motorcycles; Jack has a Harley (FatBoy) that Mike always said was the model to buy.

STORIES: Around 1980 while working at West Bend Cookware division, during the New Year holiday, Mike commandeered the company PA system and to the amusement of sister Pat bellowed, " Dive Dive Dive ", complete with horn sounds. He was a great mimic. Mike and his father loved to cook and enjoyed homemade french fries; when Paul found out, he and Mike ate a 5 lb bag in one sitting.

Mike was passionate about the Vikings and the rivalry with his Packer family and friends. Mike had a great sense of humor, a strong faith in God and could cut through lies and shallowness with wisecracks that broke up Kathy and Paul and his friends and coworkers. He loved fixing equipment, working on his car and camping; he would show up if anyone needed help.

The apt manager knew Mike for 3 years as a friend to her and her sons. Everywhere Mike went he made friends through his wisdom and humor.

Mike's sister Patricia will be happy to see you for a small gathering at Woodland church at 10 am Thursday August 23rd .
