Nancy Davidson Obituary

Davidson, Nancy

Nancy Davidson, 66, passed away in her home in Plover, WI on July 24 early in the morning with her family by her side after fighting a courageous 9 year battle with cancer. She was born on November 11, 1949 to Joe and Glenda Potter in Sioux Falls, SD. She grew up on a farm in Bridgewater, attended a country school for the entirety of her grade school years, going on to graduate from Bridgewater High School in 1968. She continued her education at South Dakota State University in Brookings where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1972. During her college years she was very active in the Christian college group, the Navigators, where she committed her life to Jesus. Following her college years she taught a high school home economics class in Scotland, SD for two years and held various jobs as she relocated to the Twin Cities to continue her involvement with the Navigators ministry. She met her husband, Jim, of 38 years during this time. They were married on April 15, 1978. They welcomed three children into their marriage and later moved to Plover, WI in 1996 where they became members of Woodlands Church where they currently attend.

Nancy was a woman of grace, kind-hearted yet some spunk when she decided. She left everyone a little better than she found them and lived by simple rules such as "love one another" or "a little bit of kindness goes a long way". Though she didn't continue to teach school in a traditional sense, she did homeschool her kids for three years as well as taught them the ways of how to run a household in the fullest sense. When you were with her she would listen fully, make you feel comfortable and "at home" in her presence. She loved much.

Nancy is survived by her husband Jim of Plover, WI; her children; Luke (wife: Casey), Matt (grandson: Connor) and Annie (husband: Lee Ilagan); her sister: Pat (husband: Carl Watson) sister-in-law Nyla; one niece: Kristy; two nephews: Kurt and Kyle.

Preceded in death by her parents; Joe and Glenda Potter; brothers: Brad, Michael and Scott; twin sister: Linda.

A celebration of life will be held at Woodlands Church (190 Hoover Ave, Plover, WI 54467) on Thursday, July 28; service at 5:00PM and greeting with family and friends starting at 2:30PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Woodlands Missions Fund, 190 Hoover Ave, Plover, WI 54467.
