Beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, age 84 of Woodbury, MN, Stillwater, MN, Long Key, FL, and Port St. Lucie, FL, Loni passed away on August 26, 2025.
She is survived by her husband Ray of 62 years; sons Eric (fiancée Carrie Jones), Leif (Joy Arneson Walker), and daughter Heidi Adam (fiancé Phil Maughan); grandchildren Axel Anderson, John Paul Anderson, Anna-Lena Anderson, Kristof Adam and Veronica Adam; brothers David Yutzey (Martha), Glen Yutzey, and John Yutzey (Susan); nieces Katherine (Brian) Keene, Elizabeth Yutzey, and nephews David Yutzey Jr, Alex (Venusia) Yutzey, and Preston Yutzey; grandnephew Alex Yutzey II, grandniece Scarlett Yutzey.
Preceding her in death are her parents Marvin and Lucile Yutzey, son-in-law Tyler Adam, and sister-in-law Mary Lou Yutzey.
Loni was born February 15, 1941, in Glendale, WV. She graduated from Moundsville High School, did her undergraduate education at Kent State University, Kent, OH (Elementary Education), and her graduate education at University of Wisconsin, River Falls (MA Education). She taught 3rd grade at Stow Elementary, Stow, OH, 3rd/4th grades at Afton-Lakeland Elementary, Lakeland, MN, and 3rd grade at Lily Lake Elementary, Stillwater, MN, and retired in 1996. She is a member of MN Education Association (MEA) and National Education Association (NEA). She was active in the St. Croix Valley Jaycees and the Mrs. Jaycees. She was a member of the Keyettes, a women's auxiliary of Marathon Shrine Club, Marathon, FL and Mahi
Shriners Hospital Temple, Miami, FL. She was a member of the Friendly Valley Shrine Club and Zagalas Shrine Club of Osman
Shriners Hospital Temple, St. Paul, MN. She was active with the Imperial Order of Fire & Brimstone, as the Lady of Grand Duke Fertilious with the1998 Winter Carnival Vulcan Krewe. She was active in community service organizations such as Jaycees, Meals on Wheels, and as a fund-raiser with the Keyettes for the
Shriner's Hospitals for Children. As a member of Memorial Lutheran Church since 1967, she served on the church council, sang in the choir, and performed flute accompaniment for church services. She is a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).
Loni met the love of her life on a blind date, Ray, when they both attended Kent State University. She enjoyed her family immensely. She was an active hockey mom and a figure skater mom, transporting son Leif and daughter Heidi to their respective practices, games and competitions. She enjoyed playing bridge and participated with Ray in the Mrs. Jaycees Bridge annual tournaments. She became an excellent wild-game cook, providing meals for her family from Ray's hunting and fishing expeditions. She attended Luther Via de Christo and worked on many teams and played her flute on the final day wake-up for attendees. She and Ray enjoyed taking cross-country motorcycle trips (he drove, she rode). She and Ray together enjoyed both ocean and river cruising (12 cruises), international travel, fundraising for
Shriner's Hospital philanthropy, and as snowbirds for 20 years in the Florida Keys where they enjoyed fishing and sunset cruises on their boat. She was active at Outdoors Resort of Long Key, FL. She sang and played her flute at the weekly Happy Hour for residents and at Outdoors Resort's Church. She played Bridge, participated in Red Hatters gatherings, and as a member of ORLK's Fishing Tournament catching fish and working at banquets.
Loni loved and adored her husband, children, grandchildren, her siblings and their children.
Visitation hours are from 4 to 7, September 26, at Bradshaw Celebration of Life Center, 2800 Curve Crest Boulevard, Stillwater, MN 55082. A church memorial service at 11AM, visitations 10AM, September 27, at Memorial Lutheran Church, Afton, MN 55001 followed with interment at Memorial Lutheran Church's Cremation Memorial Columbarium. Memorials preferred to Memorial Lutheran Church.
