Daniel G. Shultz

1946 - 2025

Daniel G. Shultz, 79, of Thompson Falls, MT, passed away on March 5, 2025, at his home. Born on July 18, 1946, Daniel led a life marked by dedication, adventure, and love for his family.

After graduating from Kellogg Senior High School, where he was an undefeated boxer, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army in 1964. He completed basic training at Fort Ord, California, before serving a tour of duty in Vietnam, where he was assigned to the Motor Transport Division. His commitment to service was a profound chapter in his life.

Daniel's professional life was equally robust. He worked as a ranch hand and a guide for big game hunters, sharing his love for the outdoors. His primary career was as an underground miner, where he was deeply respected and retired as a First Class Mine Hoisting Operator from Stillwater Mining Company.

Beyond his professional and military life, Daniel was an avid aviator. He dedicated much of his time to building kit aircraft, successfully completing two airplanes, including the Zenith CH 750 Stahl, which he often piloted. He was working on a third plane at the time of his passing.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Della Shultz; brother, Jim Shultz; sisters, Patty Moor and Penny Miller; children, Sherrie Shultz (Scott Parnell), Larry Shultz, and Jerry Shultz; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and his beloved family pet, Nahla. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eda and Elwin Shultz; son, Danny Jo Shultz; sisters, Loraine Shultz; and stepdaughters, Angela and Diana.

A celebration of Daniel's life is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Power Park in Thompson Falls, MT. Daniel's life was a testament to his strength, resilience, and love for his family and country. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
