LARRY RASMUSSEN Leonard Larry Rasmussen, 80, of Lakefield, formerly of Mountain Lake, died on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Leonard Larry Rasmussen was born on June 22, 1945, to Jack and Maude Rasmussen in Washington, D.C. Leonard, a.k.a. Larry, attended and graduated from Butterfield High School. Larry met his late wife, Barbara (Beckius) while working at Tony Downs in St. James. He lived in Butterfield with Barbara where they had four children, Theresa Rasmussen, David Rasmussen, Nicole Rasmussen, and SuAnn Rasmussen. They moved to Mountain Lake where they worked and raised their children. Larry worked at Tony Downs, Mountain Power, Sanborn Hydrolics, Westin, and Balzers. Larry enjoyed duck, goose, and deer hunting. He was an avid fisherman, both summer and winter, and enjoyed taking his grandsons hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed raising and training his black lab dogs. Larry is survived by his four children, Theresa Rasmussen, David Rasmussen, Nicole Rasmussen, and SuAnn Rasmussen; brothers, Darby Rasmussen (Becky) and Dean Rasmussen; grandchildren, Ethan Harder, Alec Harder, Ashley Harder, Tiburcio Estrada (Amanda), Luciano Estrada, and Emma Estrada; great-grandchildren, Dominic Vrooman, Addison Vrooman, T.J. Harder, and Liam Estrada; sister-in-law, Pat Schuur; and many many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Rasmussen and his parents, Jack and Maude Rasmussen.
