WANDA GREBENC

WANDA LEE GREBENC 11/01/1956 - 10/16/2025 Wanda Grebenc of St. James passed away unexpectedly at her home after dealing with medical issues at the age of 68. She was born in St. James, daughter to Edward and Eleanora Dougherty. At a young age the family moved to Ely. There she enjoyed growing up in the outdoors and graduating from Ely Memorial High School in 1975. In 1982, Wanda and her son Robert moved back to southern Minnesota where she started a career in the food industry. Soon after she met the love of her life, Stub Dougherty. Together they enjoyed hunting and raising animals on their hobby farm until his passing in 2005. Wanda carried great pride in family. Being in charge of family reunions, family records, and family get togethers was always on top of her list. The last few years revolved around her granddaughters, Hannah and Alicia. Wanda could always be heard cheering loudly, showing her love and support at every event, program, and recital. Wanda is survived by her son Robert, granddaughters Hannah and Alicia, brother Dale (Nancy) Dougherty, brother Scott Dougherty. She was greeted in Heaven by those preceding her in death; her parents, sister Dawn, brother Gary (Bonnie) and Stub Dougherty. For those she touched in life, a small prayer and happy memories, so to be remembered. A small private service will be schedule at a future date.
