It has been over year since Dr.Ip has passed and I have been totally lost without him when it comes to caring for my 3 girls. We have moved and found a different pediatrician which is not the same. I did have dream about him in one of the patient rooms, were he asked if everything is ok. He is is a still thoughtful in my dreams.forever a great legend.

I was shocked to hear of Dr. Ip's passing. We left St. Louis in 2007, but continued to keep in touch through our holiday cards. Our recent card was returned today with "deceased" stamped on the label. We have three daughters from China and Dr Ip cared for them from the start. I will forever be grateful that we began our parent journey with such a kind, considerate and conservative pediatrician. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Dr. Ip was a phenomenal man. He came into our lives when my daughter was 5 days old & I have no regrets. He became family. He was the only Dr. I know that would say, "Don't waste your time or money...just wait it out" ! I'd say, what hospital can I meet you at & he'd, say " you're the patient, where can I meet you"! There will never be a Dr. like him! To his family, thank you for sharing him with us...he touched thousands of lives! May he rest from his labor with the Ultimate Dr.! Your work will forever speak for you! We'll love you always! Thank you for the journey!

Dr. Ip was my pediatrician growing up and I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He was always so soft spoken and gentle with us, definitely a rare gem. My thoughts, prayers, and positive thoughts go out to his kids!

I was shocked to hear of Dr. Ip's death. Dr. Ip met us at 2 in the morning at Children's Hospital after calling him. He immediately asked questions of the staff got them to do a spinal tap. Our son had meningitis. I have always had great respect for his great knowledge and compassion. He was a wonderful person, his family is in my prayers.

We also just called Dr. Ip's office and were told that he passed away in January. Our youngest son was adopted from South Korea and we were referred to Dr. Ip through the cleft palate clinic at Children's Hospital. Dr. Ip took excellent care of our son. He was an excellent doctor and we knew we could count on him for medical care with a quiet compassion that is difficult to find these days. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I just learned of Dr. Ip's passing, and am so sad to hear about it. He was such a kind, gentle, and patient doctor. When my daughter came home from China, she was hesitant to accept new people - but she immediately liked Dr. Ip! I appreciated that he took time to call me personally and allay my fears when we faced some worrisome issues; he had the ability to put one's mind at ease with his calm demeanor.
He will be greatly missed.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Ip who was the pediatrician for all three of our daughters. He was a lovely and dedicated man and saw our family through several serious medical crises. We will miss his gentle manner. God's blessings to his family.

I just called Dr. Ip's office and was told he passed away in January. I am devasted & saddened by the news. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to his family. Dr. Ip took great care of my adopted daughter, Kiana, since I brought her home 13 years ago from China. He read her medical papers written in Chinese and gave me the comfort of knowing she was well taken care of in China. Dr. Ip was a kind, gentle and caring man and will be sorely missed. I want Dr. Ip's son & daughter to know how proud he was of them. He spoke about them and shared stories. He always asked about me. Not many doctors care enough or take the time to know their patients and parents. May you feel God's comfort & strength during this difficult time. Dr. Ip took care of so many adopted children over the years. St. Louis lost a true hero that cannot be replaced. May his legacy live on through his children.

Dr. Ip was my daughter's pediatrician and we loved him. He was such a gentle and kind human being. Even if I may have not have understood something, no question with Dr. Ip was a stupid one. When a letter was received of Dr. Ip's passing, really shocked us as first thing popped up in mind was when we first brought our son home from China at age 3, Dr Ip immediately took us in the day after arriving USA. We had a sick child with severe ear infection. The caring, concerns, and all really made it easier on first time parents! Thanks for the wonderful years we had with Dr Ip with his understanding on having a child from Asia made it easier for us in raising him into a young handsome man. Dr. Ip is watching over you all! We were so saddened to hear of Dr. Ip's sudden passing. Both my brother and I were patients of Drs Koerner and Barker. All six of our children saw Dr. Barker and then Dr. Ip. He was a kind, caring, knowledgeable doctor and he will truly be missed.

Dr. Ip has been my pediatrician since I came home from China in 1994. He helped my parents in dealing with me a lot, and he was an incredibly sweet and kind doctor who I felt comfortable with and who I will miss dearly.

I learned today of Dr. Ip's passing. He was my pediatrician growing up and a mentor during college. He was kind enough to let me shadow him on occasion.

Cesse and Aidan, I was so sorry to learn of your dad's passing and am sorry for your loss. I remember when your dad joined Dr. Barker's practice. He saw me on occasion before I aged out of their care. When I had kids of my own, I didn't even have to look for a pediatrician. I knew who I wanted. He has been their (now 22 & 19) pediatrician since birth. He was an amazing doctor and a great man and truly will be missed. I will never forget him.

I just learned of Dr. Ip's passing tonight and I'm deeply saddened. He has been my children's pediatrician for 18 years when my first child was born. He came and personally introduced himself to our family during the hospital stay following birth. He was a kind and caring doctor and will be truly missed by our family.

We are deeply sadden by Dr. Ip's passing. Dr. Ip had been the doctor of my four children since our relocation from Houston in 2007. Dr. Ip and I were both natives of Hong Kong. We had wonderful chats of his high school, his visits to Hong Kong and upcoming travels. He was kind, compassionate and scholarly. He would write notes on a piece of paper to explain to me the biology behind the illnesses. He was highly intelligent and a true gentleman. Dr. Ip, you were the best and will be greatly missed.

I was so very sorry to hear this news. Dr. Ip was the pediatrician for both of my boys, and my youngest just had some sutures removed the week before his death. We are all stunned and saddened, and send his family our condolences.

We wish to send our heart-felt condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Ip. He was truly the kindest and most caring person. He always welcomed my kids and I with a smile and a kind word when we came for a visit. He spoke of his children with such pride and joy. It was such a comfort to me to know that whatever medical issue arose for my girls whether it was a bump on the head or a broken toe or anything in between, he would be there to gently guide us through it. He will be greatly missed by the McDonnell family as a doctor, advisor and friend.

We are so saddened. Dr. Ip is the best doctor! During childhood, I went to Dr. Ken Koerner. He was Dr Barkers partner. When my daughter was born about 18 years ago, Dr Barker was her Pediatrician until he retired. Then off to Aidan and things were so awesome. He was always very kind and cured all ailments. Dr Ip never hesitated to see my kids when things got bad. We miss you Doc!

I just learned of Dr. Ip's passing. I am in total shock. He was my 29 year old daughter's pediatrician. She has Down Syndrome and I will always remember his encouraging and positive words to me after her birth. He also was my four grandchildren's pediatrician and always was very attentive and concerned about their health and welfare. Rest in Peace!

We were stunned to learn tonight of Dr. Ip's sudden passing. He was our four children's pediatrician, having just begun to practice with Dr. Barker shortly before I gave birth to our fourth child. I ran a fever in the hospital, and I will forever remember him calling me personally in my hospital room to ask me what was going on from my perspective. The next morning he was there very early and stayed until my O.B. came in so he could be sure that my treatment wouldn't harm my nursing the baby. This was typical of the kind of "caring in detail" that personified his practice. More recently we were thrilled that our third child and his wife chose to go to Dr. Ip when our first in-town grandchild was born last August. Our son remembered Dr. Ip's gentleness and care, and wanted that for his own little daughter.
No doubt Dr. Ip worked long hours and went more than the extra mile on many occasions. He will be deeply missed by so many. We feel empathy for his family who has shared him with so many patients, and gratitude to God for his medical "ministry" in our lives. Jane and Dennis Lindberg

I was so sad to hear about the passing away of such a great man. My brorhers and I, my nieces, and my own kids went to him. I loved that he was humble enough to answer the phone, and you could talk to him at any time. I was his last patient that had meningitis. My thoughts any prayers are with his family! Our family just found out about the sudden loss of a great man and Dr. Dr. Ip cared for my sister-in law at the age of three months when she was adopted from South Korea by my husbands family till she was in high school, now she is 26 years old. Then 13 years ago he became our Dr to our oldest daughter with two more daughters to follow. He will be sorely missed, especially when he took the extra steps make sure our girls will be just fine. Dr Ip has been my four children's pediatrician for over 21 years. He was a terrific, caring and thorough pediatrician. My second baby was in Childrens Hospital and Dr. Ip came to check on him daily. I will never forget his kindness and support during that difficult time.

What a shock this is. I worked next door to Dr Ip several years ago. He was always so kind.He wasnt a doctor because of the income, he was a doctor because of him compassion for others. His pt's LOVED him. He will truely be missed.
