Services: Funeral from KUTIS CITY CHAPEL, 2906 Gravois, Friday, June 27, 9:45 a.m. to St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, masses preferred or donations to the Sisters of Christian Charity c/o Kutis Funeral Home. Visitation Thursday 4-8 p.m.

48 years Amadee gave me away at my wedding. His photo can be seen in the Post Dispatch, Sept, 7, 1975. I will always miss him and cherish his beautiful one of a kind drawing.

Amadee was our friend. I was very close to him. He gave me away at my wedding and I have a beautiful life size pencil portrait he drew for me. It is a treasure. He gave me one of his Weather Bird Stamps which I cherish. He was so joyful to be around and always smiling. We will miss him but have the most fond memories of our time with him.

My dad was an artist who taught me to appreciate Amadee's unique talent at an early age. His work made people smile. What a great gift to have given so many people for such a long and wonderful career. Godspeed.

I was a copy boy in 1959, when the Post-Dispatch was still at 12th and Olive. The City Room was full of characters and Amadee was always in the corner, smoking a cigar at the drawing board most of the day. There was an informal contest in the news room to submit tag-lines for the weather bird and Amadee would accommodate the line with a matching cartoon. He was one-of-a-kind and St Louis was lucky to have him for so long.

I have known Amadee since 1974 and spent time with him at his studio, at Spring Training, at Busch Stadium and many of his haunts, including Gittos downtown and Gianninos on Lindbergh. I can not come to Saint Louis for the service but wish him well in art heaven. The photo in the Post with he and Becky at Charlie Gittos is priceless.
