Basil Sharp Obituary
Sharp, Basil L.
of Osage Beach died on
November 13 at Lake Regional
Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri,
at the age of 83. Basil was born
on January 15, 1925, to Eugene
and Etta Sharp in Pawnee,
Oklahoma.
Basil was a graduate of Pawnee High School and Oklahoma
University where he played football. He was Sales Manager for
Reilly Industries of Indianapolis,
Indiana. Reilly Industries is a
global supplier of chemical specialties, supporting the growing
trends in life science, health and
wellness, and natural and green
chemistry.
Basil and his first wife, Norma
Jean, were the parents of four
sons: Gary, Larry, Barry and
Terry. Norma Jean preceded
him in death. In 1977 he was
united in marriage to Ellen
Bittner Johnson. Before moving
to the Lake of the Ozarks, Basil
and Ellen lived in Ballwin, Missouri. Basil was an avid golfer
and supported The Dogwood
Animal Shelter. He was a member of Harper Chapel United
Methodist Church. Basil was a
loving grandfather and was
known as Pa-Pa, Pa-Paw and
Grands Basil. Among the survivors are his wife Ellen; three
sons, Gary and wife Kris of Dallas, Texas; Larry and wife Susan
of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma;
Terry and wife Peggy of Edmond, Oklahoma; grandson
Barry, Jr. and wife Vicky; and
many grandchildren and great-
grandchildren; two stepsons,
David Johnson and wife Leslie,
and John Johnson and wife
JoAnne; many friends in Ballwin
and many friends and neighbors
at the Lake. He was also preceded in death by four sisters,
one brother, a son Barry and a
grandson, David R. Johnson, II.
Services: A Memorial Service
will be held at 10 a.m., November 17, at Harper Chapel United
Methodist Church, 5567 Highway
54, Osage Beach, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may
be made to the Harper Chapel
Capital Fund or Dogwood
Animal Shelter.
