Betty Hirsch Obituary

Hirsch, Betty J. (nee Dunn) 89 years, Monday, March 19, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Otto J. Hirsch, Jr.; dear mother of E. Gayle Rogan (Frank), Otto J. Hirsch III (Linda), Charles K. Hirsch (Becky), Richard B. Hirsch (Sue), and the late Marcus A. Hirsch (Debbie Hirsch McCullen); loving grandmother of Nathan Hirsch (Katie), Frank Rogan III (CarrieAnne Smith), Allison Cargal (Paul), Brendan Rogan (Lindsay), Stephen Hirsch (Connie Su), Joey Hirsch (Laura), Amanda Mozingo (Chad), Ian Hirsch (Stephanie Proietty) and great-grandmother of Josie, Sam, Campbell, McCarthy, Norah and Marcus; dear sister of the late Charles K. and Jack C. Dunn; and dear sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend. Betty was born and raised in a rural community, living a very simple and modest lifestyle, and was immensely proud of the fact that she and her husband, Otto, raised five healthy, happy children. Early in their marriage, they moved from Louisiana, Missouri, to Florissant, and she remained in love with the Florissant community her entire life. Recently, she had moved to The Fountains of West County, and had begun to adopt that community as her new home. Before retiring, she was a bank teller and personal banker in Old Town Florissant for many years, and loved helping people in that way. But most of all, she loved learning about her customers and their families - and telling them all about hers. As her children married and her family grew, her focus turned to grandbabies and, in recent years, great-grandbabies. Even in her final hours in Mercy Hospital, pictures and stories of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren kept her alert, engaged, and smiling. Services: Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Hutchens Mortuary & Cremation Center, Florissant. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 23. Memorials to Backstoppers appreciated.

Dear Gayle and brothers,
I learned of your dear sweet mom's passing from Carol Behlmann Pohlmann , my long ago neighbor. i stopped to visit her when we had our last grade school reunion, and i loved her once again as I did all those years ago. Such a delightful, loving lady. I am saddened for your deep loss and send my love to you and prayers for God's peace and comfort.
