Carol A. Kammerer

Kammerer, Carol Anne (nee Habel) fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, finally at home in a place she will not forget, on Thursday, December 1, 2011. Beloved wife of the late Glenn E. Kammerer; dear daughter of the late Reinold J. and Rose Pollard Habel; loving mother of Marian Kammerer, Susan Cunningham, Ned (Sandy) Kammerer, Glenn R. (Heather Cessna) Kammerer and Anne (Frank) Bono; much loved grandmother of Chris Kammerer, Ryan and Collin Cunningham, Lauren, Luke and Logan Kammerer, Jessica, Danny and Ginny Kammerer and Mara and Strider Bono; dear sister of Michael (Linda) Habel and the late William Habel and Marian Haegle; dear sister-in-law of Mary Lou Habel, Mary Heideman and Larry Roberts; our dear aunt, cousin and friend. Carol was a life long resident of St. Louis. She attended Holy Name Grade School (1943) and Ursuline Academy (1947) and worked as a secretary at General Motors before marrying Glenn Kammerer in 1959. She later worked at Camie-Campbell, Inc. After retiring, Carol volunteered regularly at Birthright and at Assumption parish where she was a parishioner for more than 40 yrs. She was a gracious, selfless woman who counted her family, her faith and her friends as her greatest treasures in life. Donations may be made in Carol's name to Birthright St. Louis or to the Alzheimer's Association. Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. (at Butler Hill) Friday, Dec. 9, 9:30 a.m. to Assumption Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment Jefferson Bar racks National Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 3-8 p.m.
