Rollings, Dale Linn
June 23, 1940 – July 1, 2021. Dale Linn Rollings of St. Louis, MO, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021, at the age of 81. Dale was the loving husband of Linda (Obermeier) Rollings; beloved son of Jake and Ruby (Feezor) Rollings (deceased); father of Mark (Nee) Rollings of Burbank, CA, Matthew (Kris) Rollings of Sarasota, FL; grandfather to Patrick Rollings of St. Louis, MO; great-grandfather to Patrick's children Zahara and Zayn.
Dale was a proud graduate of Affton High School, class of 1958. Dale briefly attended the University of Florida then transferred to Washington University where he completed his Juris Doctorate. Dale's career as an attorney was vast: initially as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Greene County, MO, followed by head of the Criminal Division of the Missouri Attorney General's Office. In 1971, Dale moved his family to St. Charles, MO to start a private practice specializing in Business Mergers & Acquisitions; Tax, Estate & Succession Planning. Dale also served for 22 years as Executive Director of the International Order of the Golden Rule (OGR), the world's largest selective-membership funeral organization. Dale also served as a founding board member and General Counsel for 35 years of the St. Charles City-County Library; member of 6 person select "turn-around-team" taking over and re-organizing the failing Lindenwood College; Dale continued to serve the revitalized and successful Lindenwood University for many years. Dale was an avid winemaker and owner/operator of Yellow Farmhouse and Winery in Defiance, MO, author of "Exit Laughing" for retiring business owners, and 2 novels, "The Trunk" and "At the End of the Day."
Dale was an accomplished man but was at heart a family man. Dale enjoyed traveling the world and discovering new cultures. Dale was known for his kindness and generosity, committing his time and talents to many local organizations and charities.
