Sarah, Kate, Finn, Elise, and family,
We will be diligently praying for you all. We can't begin to grasp what you are going through but we have been popcorn praying for you all throughout this week. Sometimes there are no words, just silent tears streaming down our faces for you all. I know that those prayers are dearest because there are simply no words but the groanings we know come from the Holy Spirit. We pray you will be able to hold on to those memories and celebrate their lives and all that you did together. You have so many wonderful pics showing family gatherings, birthdays, travels all over Europe, and fun homeschooling days. You've done more as a family in the time you've had together than many have done in fifty years. Death can never take those memories away, remember that, Sarah. We will be holding you up high in our prayers and continue lifting you all up. May God hold you and strengthen you. Love The Efaws

Oh, my dear friend Sarah, how I wish I could hug you. My heart has broken over and over again since first hearing the horrible news. It was always a real joy to get to spend time with your family and I always looked so forward to our visits, even though they may have been years apart. I am so thankful that technology, at least, has allowed us to still be close despite the miles that physically separate us. I wish I could take your pain away, I wish I could undo the events of the last weekend, I wish I could bring back your loving husband and your sweet, sweet boys. Oh how I will miss them. Know that I, friends of mine, and my whole family are holding you close this week and in the weeks to come. You and Dave have been such an example to me and you have touched SO many lives. I KNOW that Dave, Dom, and Grant all heard, "well done thou good and faithful servant" when they stepped into Glory. I am SO thankful for the knowledge that we will see them again in Glory. That is the only comfort to me and I pray that God will simply pour out His blessings on you and ease your heart. You and your whole family are being prayed for all over the world. May you feel those prayers and feel the arms of Jesus as He holds you to give you His peace and comfort. I love you!!

To Sarah and Decareaux family, although you may not remember me and my husband personally, I wanted you to know that you and your family have always had a lasting impression on us. In 2005 when my husband and I had orders to Alconbury, England, David and you were our sponsors. My husband worked with David at JAC Molesworth that year. I will never forget the generosity and kindness your husband and yourself showed to us. They are no words that one can say to comfort the lost of a husband and child. But I hope you find comfort in the days and years to come to know that your family left lasting impressions in other people's lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time.

Dave and your family were such a blessing to so many of the Scouting famies during our time in Germany. He was an amazing example of Christ-like service and God's love. May all the sweet memories you have bring a smile to your face, in time. Oh, how we all wish we could bind up your wounds and heal your broken heart! Prayers don't seem sufficient, but we know the Lord himself is. May your family find some solace in His Arms & each other. Thankful that you know they are filled with peace in God's perfect presence, but we know that doesn't lessen your pain and grief. Your entire family is being lifted up by so very many people Sarah! Praying that you, your children, & Dave's parents experience an extra measure of love from your Heavenly Father & those closest to you.

To the entire Decareaux family, our prayers are all we have that we can offer you for comfort; there are no words. When I think of Davey, I see him marching in the St. Paul band in a Mardi Gras parade and I see that fireman's son that started a fire between our two houses years ago. Keep the good memories in front of you and know that they now see the face of God and that one day you will be together again.

Words cannot describe the feeling this saddening news did to me when I heard it. Dave was an outstanding person and was definitely someone that I counted as an excellent addition to our team in Germany. As a fellow "Who Dat" I feel an even deeper loss for Dave and the boys that I cannot truly express without getting too emotional. "Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again, and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy." - John 16:22
Sarah, your expression of faith is a "city on a hill" in this dark world (Matthew 5:14). Heaven is our home, because Jesus is our Savior...your boys and husband knew that. They have received "the goal of their faith...the salvation of their souls." (I Peter 1:9). While there are no answers that make sense in this world, may God give you peace and comfort knowing that your loved ones have peace in the next... God give you and your children strength, knowing that you WILL see them again. Your testimony to Christ is inspiring. Much love....
