11/07/1972 - 10/26/2023, the son of Steven G. Stegen and Jean E. Stegen (McMillan) of O'Fallon, Missouri and the brother of Jeffrey T. Stegen of West Lafayette, Indiana and Brian K. Stegen of St. Louis, Missouri. He was a wonderful Christian who sincerely cared for others. David was intimate with the old and new testaments and had also become familiar with the Talmud and the Koran. His passion was Archaeology, and he loved the study of European mythology. In addition to English, his linguistic skills included Arabic, Greek, Bulgarian and some French and Hebrew. He also interpreted Egyptian Hieroglyphics. The family would like to thank the goodness of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for their past free and expert medical care of David, while a guest Archaeologist, in their country.
David was a 9th generation, 3rd cousin to POTUS, General George Washington.
Services: The family is being served by Newcomer Funeral Home - West County Chapel, 2211 Clarkson Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
